Summer Skirts: Hiking to Cocktails
Is it just me, or have skirts recently fallen out of favor with people older than seven? Skirts were such a staple item for me about ten years ago, and then for no reason at all, I just stopped wearing them. They’re so versatile, as these selections for everything from hiking to cocktails show. Time to re-stock.
L to R, row by row:
- ASOS Africa print skirt – I love this print. Maybe a little too “Audrey II” from ‘Little Shop of Horrors,” but great colors. North Face Cavallo skort – Obviously very casual, this is a great addition to one’s knock-around wardrobe. ASOS bias cut maxi skirt – The words, “bias cut” are like a security blanket to me.
- ASOS Africa organza cocktail skirt – Don’t forget a slip, like this model did. Halogen stretch denim pencil skirt – This will work in most offices, I would think. ASOS black jersey flared skirt – Don’t wear with black clunky tennis shoes, like this model did, unless stumpy is your thing.
Oh, dear – Organza with no slip? Yikes! But I may just have to order the Northface skort! I can only wear skorts – no skirts unless I’m wearing tights, too. I hate the inner thighs rubbing together. (Yes, I am not a size 2, so my thighs touch. Sorry for the TMI…) 😀
Skirts were always my staple, too, and I stopped wearing them. There must be a reason. Too many minis, maybe? I love the denim pencil here, and I recently found a great Zara basic that I had nipped in at the waist for a perfect fit. $35. http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/us/en/zara-us-S2012/189504/629837/SHEATH%2BSKIRT
