Françoise Hardy, Style Icon: You Can
Here’s the thing about style icons: Their look, whether it’s from one or fifty years ago, would work today. A particular woman’s style may not work for you, necessarily. But an iconic style’s lines, proportions, and colors are aesthetically pleasing now, regardless of the the time that has passed.
Françoise Hardy is a French singer whose height of popularity was in the 1960s and 1970s. A gamine like this would have looked great in anything, but what’s obvious from the pictures is that she made very deliberate style choices along the lines of more tomboyish shapes, more coverage rather than less, and a great mix of textures.
Can we get the Françoise Hardy look today? Mais oui!
